Sahara booked already

well give me the scoop bad or otherwise, did we make a bad choice considering your only in your room long enough to sleep and shower?

Sahara booked already

not bad choice if you want on strip with low rates

Sahara booked already

In my oppinion you made a good choice. If you are more interested in a decent place to sleep and not trying to impress your self with the Bellagio. The Sahara is in a great location if you are going to spend time on the strip and downtown. There is a bus stop just north of the casino you can take the duece downtown, about a 20 min. trip. The Sahara has a monorail station, you can be at the MGM in about 15 min.. There are some good shows here, also a lot of free shows. A good restaruant is Paco%26#39;s Grill if you like mexican food. Just remember you can%26#39;t receive the Bellagio at motel 6 rates. Enjoy!!

The Sahara normally isn%26#39;t my first choice but I%26#39;ve stayed there on occassion (last time was in April %26#39;06) and it%26#39;s really not that bad. The worst thing about it is the location on the north part of the strip with not too much around it. But, as mentioned, it is on the monorail and only a 15 minute ride away from MGM.

The rooms are clean, the pool is decent (and not a nightmare to get to like most of the other resorts), the casbar lounge is a lot of fun and I usually make it a point each trip to stop here and have a drink or two and listen to the music--it has an old vegas feel.

If you%26#39;re not looking for gourment dining and glitzy clubs you%26#39;ll be very happy here.

bob,

Many people on this forum will tell you the older hotels are ';dumps';.

Don%26#39;t listen to that crap. You hit the proverbial nail on the head.

';considering your only in your room long enough to sleep and shower';

If your going for the see and be seen vacation, Sahara is not the place. If you need someone to hold your hand while you operathe the remote control draperies, Sahara is not the place. If you need a high stakes room where you can get a pedicure, Sahara is not the place.

IF, you want a good clean room for a good price and don%26#39;t mind taking care of yourself...

You done good.

Have fun and good luck!

We stayed at the Sahara once and had a very nice time. Great lounge entertainment, very nice pool, loose slots, good cocktail waitress service while playing. While not impressed with the dinner buffet, breakfast buffet is good and lots of 2-4-1%26#39;s to be found. Getting around no problem if you%26#39;re not too proud to take the Deuce or Strip trolley. They have a monorail station, too, but it%26#39;s pricey. Have a wonderful, wonderful time. By the way, our room was clean and just fine.

I stayed at the Sahara in May. Yes it%26#39;s a dump, and I don%26#39;t care what anyone says. The breakfast buffet is a little below fair but it was cheap, just right for the price. My room was a bit dirty, hairs and dirty towels in the bathroom, no iron, but I figured it would be that way given the price.

OK hairs and dirty rooms.....no way. I don%26#39;t care how much you pay. All I can think of is bed bugs gross. I would rather pay 300 a night than to sleep in filth.

Don%26#39;t let the negative statements worry you. The Sahara is not a dump. The older places get a bad rap just because they are older. I have stayed in both the high end places and the cheapo%26#39;s. I have had better service from the staff in the cheaper places. The people who say they would rather pay $300 a night are the see and be seen people. But I%26#39;m probably just one of them ';ol%26#39; redneck boy%26#39;s';. You have not made a bad choice. Have Fun!!
