Silly me, I forgot to mention the Bunkhouse Saloon in my trip report.
http://bunkhouselv.com/AboutUs.html A little known local bar - A cozy place but well off the beaten path. Family run Scott teh bartender at the Atomic turned Mailman and I on to it. . Nice selection of beers. Live bands, no cover, different style of music each night. This is east of the Western on Fremont at 11th then turn right or south a few doors past the hostel. The area is pretty rough but survivable if you keep your wits about you..Although everyone is welcome, this is a place to go to avoid tourists.
The Bunkhouse SaloonOn closer recollection, there is a motel associated with the bar. It does not appear to be too shady a place to stay. At least from personal experience the bar does not appear to be a funnel into the motel.. If you get my drift.
The Atomic and this bar are themselves a level above much of the neighborhood. Perhaps things in that area are looking up?
Most of the riff raffs frequest the cheaper Western.
The Bunkhouse SaloonCool, we may visit if I am still allowed to drink at that point. I am hoping not to be, but we%26#39;ll see.
Drink ???
Sorry to get personal but are you planning on doing whar bunnies are famous for? If so the best of luck!
Thanks, yes, I am desperately hoping to be in a delicate condition by then.
Best of luck with that. I mean it, I know someone who is having troubles with that and as I understand it has to sit in a bucket of ice water from time to time. BRRRR
Me I would rather sit on a bar stool at the Bunkhouse.
They also have tap beer.
