I need a little prodding to make reservations to LV in January. My husband and I have been twice this year so far (New Year%26#39;s and July) and I went with some lady friends earlier this month. We were not going to book another trip because we are remodeling our house sometime in November. HOWEVER.....being the Vegas junkie that I am, I have searched for %26#39;deals%26#39; and I think I found one. This trip will have to be %26#39;on the cheap%26#39; because we are squeezing it in. We both teach, so we can only go during holidays. I found a SW flight out of Houston (a 4 hour drive for us, so what??) and a 3 night stay at the Gold Coast (I love the Coast), for under $600 total. This would be January 2 -5, so it will not interfere with school. Convince me to book! I will be honest - I feel a tad guilty about a 4th trip within a year and, I am a bit nervous about flying now. Can%26#39;t help it. Our son is 18 now, so he can stay with his older sister, so children are not a problem. We are not high rollers and will be totally happy shlupping it to the strip on the shuttle and hoofing it for the day. Have done this before and actually enjoyed it.
OK - you have your assignment. Should I go??
Convince me to go!!
Sure why not?
Convince me to go!!
uhh- is the 18 year old going to go to college?
To heck with it--tell him to get student loans---go--go--go.
If you have to ask...........................................
you%26#39;re not as addicted as I am.
Think of it this way...your students need you to go, so you can refresh yourselves and not vent your pent up frustrations on them.
YES!!!!!!!! You should definitely go! Come on -you KNOW you want to! Your post says it all- VEGAS JUNKIE!!it sounds like a reasonably priced trip and technically if you went for New Years(of 2005) and you are going AFTER New Years this time, it is actually only 3 trips in one year. July, your girl%26#39;s trip -hey wait a minute! Depending on the dates I think you might have to consider your Jan 07 trip as only your first of the year!
No matter how you look at it, I think you should just go for it! We went in May, going back in Oct, and just found out that even though my stay would have been totally comped for New Years, and I had a free ticket to fly out, we CAN%26#39;T go because I can%26#39;t get the time off from work that week between Christmas and New Years. ARGHHHHH!!!
To make matters worse- my older son is a teacher and off then, and my younger college age (21) son will be off also that week so we were planning on taking them out with us- they were both up for it (especially since we were treating-ha ha) and now the trip won%26#39;t happen.
Book it and have a blast!!
Mrsq,
600 total, or $300 each...with the cost of fuel and the price of airline ticket going up, sooner or later it will it take it toll on everyone%26#39;s budget. If you can afford it, you should go, otherwise....you will be left on the side lines looking in cause what you could have done for $300 today, will be something like $400 + tomorrow.
%26#39;Have done this before and actually enjoyed it.';.....this depends on your attitude....but for me, a bad day at LV sure beats a good day at work.
Cheers.
lovingvegas, I would quit that job if I were you. Did you tell them that ';Vegas was on your mind'; ? Any boss who can%26#39;t understand that, well, well---it%26#39;s blasphemy, I tell you, blasphemy!!!
as an after thought, And they wonder why people go POSTAL.
If you need convincing you should probably stay home.
ildebrandosr- believe the thought has crossed my mind- (to quit-NOT to go postal!!) I am only at this job for 7 months- left my previous job after 14 years because of a MISERABLE BOSS- but I lost seniority and too many others off that week-I keep telling myself that it would be too crazy in Vegas anyway for NYE but I am not really believing myself-
mrsg-by now you should have completed YOUR assignment-which was to finalize the trip!!
Jan.2-5?????? Are you planning to be in a slump after the holiday season? Wait until spring, you%26#39;ll be glad you did.
