Is there any benefit in betting more than the minimum bet on the pass line since odds bets have better payoffs?

you can place more odds w/ a larger wager. you may also be missing out on the come out roll 7/11 winners. i am not an expert on the %%26#39;s, but I know that there are some lurking here that are.

Thanks. Am trying to get my arms around what seems to be a complicated game. That makes perfect sense.

The best benefit is that you increase the maximum you can put on your odds bet.

so if the table is ';minimum $3 with 2x odds';

and you bet $3, you can put a maximum $6 behind

but if you decide you want to bump it up to $5, you can now put up to $10 maximum behind.

The house edge on the pass line is 1.41%. Odds by themselves have zero house edge. To make the odds bet though, you must 1st make the pass line/ or come bet. Combined house edge on the pass line and taking odds are:

2X 0.606%

Full double odds 0.572%

3X 0.471%

3-4-5X 0.374%

5X 0.326%

10X 0.184%

20X 0.099%

100X 0.021%

You always want to maximize your odds bet and minimize your pass line bet. Look for casinos that have 3-4-5X odds or 100 times odds. Only when you have maximized your odds bet and want to bet more do you want to increase your pass line bet, being the pass line bet has the higher house edge.

The only other time to increase your pass line bet is to protect your come bets after the point is made, which is another topic I can explain if you%26#39;re ready to learn come bets.

That should have read look for casinos that have a minimum 3-4-5X odds, 10X odds would be even better and 100X odds would be best. The higher the odds allowed, the better. Some of the higher max odds tables have a higher minimum, so watch out for that, as you don%26#39;t want to bet over your head, just to get higher max odds.

AreWeThereYet - If you have time to continue on about come bets....would like to hear more. Isn%26#39;t a common strategy to make a pass line bet with odds and then 2-3 come bets with odds and occasionally place the 6 or 8?
