just booked 3 nights at harrah%26#39;s....only 55 a day...any advice from anybody who%26#39;s stayed there??
harrah's.....
The pool isn%26#39;t much but will keep you cool, the location is good, the buffet just OK..
eat at Mirage buffet lunch, TI at dinner...better yet, Wynn/Bellagio
I would stay there at $55 for sure, it is a former Holiday Inn that is kept in good shape, my room there was
you can walk to anywhere quickly and easily from there...don%26#39;t take the long walk to the monorail station in back, to pay overpriced fares
Do visit the Rio by free shuttle, the slots pay better and the restaurant are good. Your Total Rewards Platinum card will get you into Rio pool
harrah's.....
dkekitalo - Which rooms at Harrahs have the best view of the strip?
Carnaval Tower is newer than Mardi Gras Tower. Carnaval has some strip views, but ask. Mardi Gras has small balconies and I must emphasize small! I really noticed no difference in the furnishings but some say Carnaval is better.
We enjoyed the newer buffet Flavors a lot more than the old one. In fact it was much better than Cravings at Mirage in Dec. Cravings had all crusted over food which was not the case at Flavors.
Casino is always crowded and the party pit has a fun atmosphere, but beware, BJ is 6-5. The piano bar is fun too. Elevators are fast and never a wait and staff is pleasant. They also offer us good comps to stay for free.
Harrahs is one of my recommended hotels for first time travelers to Las Vegqs who want to save! It is not luxurious ...on a good - better - best scale, I rate it ';good.'; Here is my write up on my website at:
http://www.lasvegas4newbies.com/contents.html
Harrahs Hotel %26amp; Casino Unique features: Superb dead-center strip location, right across from the Mirage hotel. This festive carnaval-themed casino has 2600 guest rooms in two (';Mardi Gras'; and ';Carnaval';) 35-story towers.
Harrah%26#39;s Entertainment is in the process of buying Caesars Entertainment in a $9.4 billion deal that will create the world%26#39;s largest gaming company with over 50 casinos.
Rooms: Recently updated rooms supposedly have ';double soundproofed walls'; (which some dispute.) Clean and comfortable. Iron/ironing board, hair dryers in rooms. Check-in time: 4 p.m.; check-out 12 noon. Monorail stops at its back door making it very convenient to run up and down the strip. Ask for a room away from the loud Carnaval Court area which parties until the wee hours of the morning!
Amenities: Outdoor swimming pool and on-site fitness center. Casual open-air Carnaval Court bar/nightclub area outside of hotel features live music, singing bartenders, drinks, food and strolling entertainers. Sometimes you can play blackjack in the court area. Piano Bar gets great reviews.
Dining: Contains 8 restaurants. The Fresh Market Square Buffet is a better than average buffet ...and reasonably priced.
Casino: The hotel%26#39;s 100,000-square-foot casino can be cramped and noisy. Has over 1,200 nickel to $500 slots, 300 video poker machines, 70 game tables, 24-hour live keno, and a race and sports book.
Cost: Price, value and location are its best features. An affordable hotel surrounded by all the expensive luxury resorts.
I had a peek at a Carnivale Tower room in July; it was nice, modern, clean, and well-appointed (room safe included). A bit smallish but that%26#39;s of little consequence unless there are three of you. There%26#39;s a Starbucks right next to the elevator bank downstairs, which is a huge plus in my book. At $55 you got a great deal, IMO.
I have Harrah%26#39;s for five nights (Mon-Fri) next week at $53 per night average. Great price for an on-strip, dead center hotel.
Looking forward to it though I have not stayed there but know the location well and it is great...room is really only used to sleep, shower and, well, you know....
I%26#39;d be happy to share info on my return...
I personally like Harrahs, but its always free and I always request Carnival Tower and end up with a free upgrade to a Junior Suite which is HUGE, so I don%26#39;t know what the rest of their rooms look like!
