Trip Report Aug. 13-16 Aladdin Resort

Sunday August 13th

7:30 am departure from Lansing , MI Alegiant air (on time)

8:10 am land in Vegas

Go to the Aladdin and cannot get our rooms until noon. Tip-- If you arrive early check your bags at the taxi area. It beats hauling them up 3 floors then back down. Lobby is under construction, moved to the 3rd floor M level.

Spice Market Buffet (Brunch) $20.99 pp good, but nothing special. Drink and table service was very good. The buffet closed the next day to be moved upstairs, which happened overnight and reopened in the Elements restaurant.

Went to Bellagio to play and look around. Then over to the MGM to gamle and play the old mechanical horse race game. NOTE: MGM HAS ADDED THE MANDALAY BAY AND SOON TO ADD THE LUXOR TO THEIR EMPIRE OF RESORTS. Went back to the Aladdin around 1pm and our rooms were ready. Gambled the rest of the afternoon at the Aladdin. 6pm Went to the Luxor dinner at the La Salsa (mexican). Food- avg Prices-avg Service-good.

8pm Carrot Top show. This guy is a hoot. I laughed so hard I thought I would have to leave to catch my breath. Well worth the money. The show lasted 90 mins. Played some more at the Luxor then back to the Aladdin, went to bed about 1 pm.

Monday Aug. 14th

Up about 9am and the usual coffee (no breakfast). Went to the NYNY. Then back over to the MGM. Lunch Blondies at the Aladdin in the Passage shops. Food-below avg Service-Avg Prices-High (avoid)

8 pm Benihanas Japanese Steak (cook at your table) Hilton

Food-Excellent Prices-Above Avg Service-Excellent $250.00 for 4 with drinks and tip. Us two guys had the steak and lobster. Tip-do not order appetizers, because you get a salad-soup-shrimp before your meal. This was our big meal of the trip and it was perfect. Went back to the Aladdin and played some more. No luck on slots or cards the first two days (4 of us playing).

Tuesday Aug. 15th

Coffe 9am (by the way...if you stay at the alladin there are other places in the passage mall that serve the morning coffee. Some may think Starbucks is the only game in the hotel.

10 am Cabana at the Mirage. This is the best way to enjoy a hot Las Vegas day. Cafe food (not restricted to cabanas only) Food-above avg Prices-Good Service-very good. Drinks-great Price- above avg Service-very good (great value-strong) Stayed at the cabana till 5 pm. 7pm Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo (6 times to Vegas and I never been here ). I was very impressed with this resort.

Lance%26#39;s show was very good, never a dull momment or slow down in the pace of the show. A good value for the money. Dinner after the Show at the City Market (italian) in the Monte Carlo casino area. Food-Avg Price-High Sevice-Avg $8.25 for a small ceasars salad?? (avoid this place) Played some more at MC and then back to our Aladdin?

Wednesday Aug 16th

10am Breakfast at the spice market buffet (comped). Glad i did not pay for it. Food and service is good, but not worth the price, unless your the type who can eat 3 plates of food. Strolled the stip North with stops at Flamingo, Harrahs, Casino Royale, Ventitian, Wynn, and TI. We played allittle at each, really had alot of fun in Casino Royale. Ate lunch in the V at the Mexican Rest. in the mall. Food-Above avg Prices-avg Service-good. Went back to Aladdin 7 pm to get ready for our flight. The ladies went shopping in the Desert Passage shops. We jus hung out play cards until it was time to go.

Flight left Vegas 11:20 pm (on time).

Highlights

Alegiant Air

Very clean, friendly, and on time. Buy your own drinks and snacks $2 each. Would most definately fly them again.

Aladdin Hotel and Casino

Under contruction, but never interfered with our stay. Plenty of signs directing you, at times alittle confusing.

Casino is chopped in half and is dark. We played there, but preferred others.

Rooms large and clean bathroom very large with tub, seperate shower and private toilet. Housekeeping was fast and efficient. The construction was never heard in our room.

Would not stay here if i paid full price while it is under construction (paid $49 per night).

When the remodel is complete this will be a premiere property on the strip. The remodel is on target and slated to open in November %26#39;06.

Gaming

4 days of play ($4000 for the 4 of us), nothing!! The largest slot payline was $200. Cards the same, nothing agian. The day we spent at the Mirgae Cabana I spoke with the Asst. Casino mgr. He claims the the tightening of the slots is ongoiong. That as long as there is high demand for the games, the casinos will keep current policies. He also stated that the video porker machines are the players best edge in his casinos.

My view -- When you lose (which you plan on), then pay high prices for food and drinks, and hotel stays. It will not be too long before the crowds stop coming and go somewhere else with their money. And habits are hard to change back (like Vegas in the 70%26#39;s).

Hope this helps someone,

Trip Report Aug. 13-16 Aladdin Resort

Thanks Rovin for the trip report. I%26#39;m heading to stay at the Aladdin in 3 weeks. I%26#39;m taking in all the info that I can gather right now and really appreciate hearing from someone who has just been there. I was getting a little nervous reading the various reports.

Trip Report Aug. 13-16 Aladdin Resort

Rovin thanks for the TR. Maybe I%26#39;ll bump onto Poodle as I%26#39;ll be there 9/14-19.

Did anyone shoot craps, eat at Lombardi%26#39;s,Gilley%26#39;s or Max%26#39;s Grill. Is Sbarros open yet? What did you like at Casino Royal?Go to Carnival Court?Sorry for all these questions and thank you for any answers LOL!

Nice report! I like shooting craps at Casino Royale.

';Video Porker'; sounds dirty through :)

Nuzz

No to all except craps. I played at Aladdin, Royale, Luxor. Did the best at craps and Caribean Poker at Royale. As bunny eluded to the Royale is a good place for craps, 100 x odds on thier craps tables.

hope this helps

rovin

Rovin...I appreciate your response.Looks like Casino Royale is a good place to shoot craps...then again if I ever lay 100 to 1 odds I should be shot.

I will be at Aladdin over Labor Day.

1. I%26#39;ve never been one for buffets, and I appreciate your input on this one because I was wondering if it would be worth it.

2. I love my lattes in the morning so I am glad there are places other than Starbucks.

BTW...new completion date is projected for early 2007.

NUZZ

Not 100 to 1 odds... Odds are the bets you put behind the pass line. Many place allow certain percentages, not 100% of your line bet.

rovin

I misspoke.Put it this way, if I had $5 on the pass line I would not have the b*lls to put $500 odds behind it.On the other hand it sure would be exciting to try it one time.

Rovin,

Is 129.00 weekend fee at the Aladdin too much to pay? I%26#39;m planning on staying there towards the end of September..Were you upgraded to a better room? If so, please give me recommendations..Will also fly with Allegiant departing from Laredo, Texas..Are drinks $2? They were selling these at $5 on my flight to Orlando 2 weeks ago.
