Well, we were booked at Monte Carlo, but after being told here and reading on the advisor website about the parking garage being closed down, i know my husband really does want to protect his car just a tad while on vacation, i knew he wouldn%26#39;t be happy with simply valet parking. which even he said, ';then how can i check on the car?';
so, Luxor emailed me a deal $69 for 5 nights, including Thanksgiving. Every place else wanted a huge amount for thanksgiving night, was going to pay $139 at monte carlo, so now, i%26#39;m paying under $400 for 5 nights in vegas, including my husband%26#39;s birthday and thanksgiving.
but a question...how long of a walk is it from say, luxor to treasure island or bellagio? i know there is the bus we can take, so that is an option, but just wondering about the walk.
i guess i better buy some nice sneakers!
Changed reservations!
It%26#39;s a mile from the Luxor to the Bellagio, and a good 10-15 minute walk from there to TI. If you want to cut the walk just moderately, there is a free tram from Luxor to Excalibur, but it is hardly worth the effort, as there are moving sidewalks connecting the two. I am assuming that this is your first trip to Vegas, so regardless of where you stay you definitely need good walking shoes!
Have a great trip.
P.S. I think the buffet at the Luxor is one of the best for value and quality.
Changed reservations!
Was there a promo code. I didn%26#39;t get an email.
Take the monorail to the front of Excalibur, (or over to mandalay Bay)and the overpass across Tropicana, to NYNY. From there you can walk anywhere..the only problem in Nov might be cool and windy weather
..walk fast and keep warm. You may luck out and have mild weather great for walking
The walk to Bellagio from Excal is short; to TI ,fairly long but not at all bad
Eat lunch or breakfast at Mandalay Bay buffet
The moving walkway is good too, if you don%26#39;t mind winding your way through the tacky Excal to finally reach the corner of Trop Blvd
If you will have a car, why wouldn%26#39;t you just drive to TI?
why can%26#39;t he check on his car if you use valet? I think you are misinfomred about valet. You can always go to your own car if he feels the need, just ask the valet where it is. not hard.
Are you buying a new car or something - seems odd you would stay at Luxor to self-park, won%26#39;t use valet and then walk other places.
I had heard that Monte Carlo customers are being permitted to self park at NY NY%26#39;s garage and walk over to MC. Does anyone know if that is the case?
I wouldn%26#39;t walk from the Luxor to TI if you paid me. And walk back too? Not my idea of a vacation, more like torture. Just drive there.
Lulutoo, you can self-park at any casino, and go whereever you wish.
I%26#39;m sorry, I still can%26#39;t understand why your husband thinks that self-park - with every person that drove to the casino careening around the garage (some under the influence) - is so much safer than the valet parking, where only the paid valets drive the cars in and out.
I know there are valet horror stories - but I just don%26#39;t see how the car is safer in self-park. JMHO.
