Polo Towers

Okay so my best frind and I are taking a trip to LV with our hubbies. Her parents offered their time share in Polo Towers, a 2BD 2BH. I read some reviews... some good some bad... please share your experience at Polo Towers.

Polo Towers

Hi Pooka, we stayed last November in a timeshare exchange but it was in Polo Towers VILLAS. There are two buildings one being Polo Towers Suites and the other PT Villas. I believe that the Villas are the newer of the two. We have exchanged to various properties in US and mostly we chose Marriotts and even though PT Villas was not in the same class we would say that there was nothing wrong with the accommodation other than it was smaller than we usually get. It was clean, tidy and looked fairly new but like yourselves we had read some not so nice reports but I think some people get the two properties mixed up. After all you don%26#39;t go to Vegas to sit in your accommodation do you? It was very well situated just a stroll (2 mins.) from the actual strip and opposite Boardwalk and Monte Carlo (won lots on a Rocky machine) and next door to Aladdin. Have stayed in Aladdin a few years ago and more recently Paris but you save the money on the accommodation going in your timeshare and due to the great position of PT you don%26#39;t miss out on the Strip. The only downside that we noticed was the bar/lounge on the top floor. We walked in and then straight out - it was grotty to say the least and smelled awful. We are from the UK and always come to US for hols. as we think it is great!

Hope you have a good time. Margaret

Polo Towers

Pooka,

The previous poster is right about the Villas vs. the Suites. I own a Suite, and I%26#39;m happy there, as the views are better in some of the Suites than Villas. The Villas are newer, and get great reviews, mostly because people are expecting the dated decor of the Suites.

On the negative side, Polo Towers is not a casino. There is no restaurant on site. It is a timeshare, which means larger accommodations, full kitchen, and 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms.

The two bedroom units are a combination 1BR and studio. The layouts in both the Villas and Suites are nearly identical. About 950 square feet total.

In all two bedroom units, the 1BR side has a small balcony, and the studio side has a large balcony. In the Suites, the 1BR bathroom side is a tub and shower, in the studio side it%26#39;s just a shower. Each bathroom has one sink in the Suites. In the Villas, there are two sinks and a soaking tub in the 1BR side.

I%26#39;m guessing you%26#39;re in a Suite, as there are twice as many Suites as Villas.

If you want as close to luxury as possible, the Villas are it. If you don%26#39;t care if the room is updated, and want the best possible strip view, then that is available in the Suites.

But since this is a gift, you have to accept either. :)

The location is great, right next to Aladdin, and very easy entrance into the Desert Shops at Aladdin. You%26#39;re also just north of MGM and NYNY. Right across from Monte Carlo. You can walk to Paris and Bellagio as well.

We like staying there, as we like to eat breakfast and have a cup of coffee in our pj%26#39;s, and don%26#39;t want to get dressed to go to breakfast!

You will also have separate keyed entrances to each half of the unit, in case someone comes in late at night. There is a door that connects the two halves in the living room that can be closed at any time.

TV%26#39;s in both sides. Full kitchen with full size fridge and dishwasher on 1BR side, and kitchenette on the studio side.

Rooftop pool is nice, but I don%26#39;t think is heated. It%26#39;s also shallow, but nice to have to cool off if it%26#39;s hot.

No wifi. that%26#39;s another negative.

Underground parking garage, which we used because we rented a car. Self park for free or tip the valet.

The half price ticket place is right in front of Polo Towers in the Hawaiian marketplace, so it was easy to make last minute plans and save money at the same time. We did that twice on the last trip.

If you prepare yourself for 1993 interior decor, you%26#39;ll be fine. I was very concerned before we walked into our unit, but was pleasantly surprised that it was clean and well kept.

I think you%26#39;ll like it!
