Deb501,

Most people on the board will agree, you shouldn%26#39;t play for comp, cause you will end up losing a lot more than what the comp is worth.

Once in a while you will find a good promo, back in Dec. Wynn was offering 2 free buffet for 50 points…..which was really easy to do, and the chances of losing more than $70 (what the comp was worth) was minimal….thus, meaning playing for the comp was worth it….today, best to my knowledge, Wynn’s require 250 points…..meaning you will more likely lose more money than what the buffet is worth.

If you really want real good comp, like free room, and free food….the best place to get it would be at the table….and get rated by the pit boss….but remember you will need to put down at least a “green” ($25) per play for a few hours to get notice.

Cheers

You may not consider this a comp, although I do. See if your concierge at the hotel can get you line passes AND cover at a club or two. I got comped into 54 and Mix and had a blast.

deb501-

Flamingo is part of Harrah%26#39;s and their players card is called Total Rewards. Sign up for a card as soon as you get there. Use it every time you play. In addition to Flamingo, you can also use it at Harrah%26#39;s (obviously), Bally%26#39;s, Paris, Caesars Palace and Rio. Charge all meals, souviners, etc to you room at ANY of the mentioned properties.

For more information on the program go to https:/…overview.jsp

They outline how you earn credits and how many credits you need to obtain certain comps.

If you go to another property sign up for their card.

As far as table games, I was also shy at first. Why don%26#39;t you try 3 card poker? You don%26#39;t have to do anything except bet and decide if you want to play or fold. Your choices have no effect on the rest of the table.

Have a great time!

Besides the Flamingo, play a little at several of Harrah%26#39;s casinos until you find some machines that will pay frequently. Do not just stick with the Flamingo.

Yes the various players clubs have different rules for comps but saying which one is best is very difficult. What you are looking for are slots that will pay enough to allow you to rack up a lot of points.

the more points, (actually the amount of time you played) The better the comps you will get.

The casinos favor slot players over table games. My brother asked when he signed up for the Red Card at the Wynn and the host said $75 a hand for 4-6 hours a day. That is risky business for people who can survive big losses.

thanks mtroh

but how do you find a machine that allows you to play for hours without losing youre shirt??

surley everyone in vegas is looking for the same thing lol

more tips please

Deb501,

Most of the slot machines (and Video Poker) are ticket in, ticket out...meaning that when you cash out, you don%26#39;t have a bucket full of coins like the old days. The major advantage of this is that you can cash out any time and go to another slot machine without going to the cashier to cash in all the coins, or plug your coins in from your bucket.

Example: You put in $50 into one slot machine on a nickel slot machine....you play 9 lines at 1 credit per line...that%26#39;s 45 cents per pull....you pull 10 times and you get nothing back...take the $4.50 lost and cash out and move to another slot machine....and try again...if you find a slot machine that goes up and down at a fair rate.....sit and play that machine, if you feel like luck is really on your side, hit the ';max coin'; button.......remember, slot machines has no eyes and don%26#39;t know who is playing.....it%26#39;s pure luck, and how the machine is programmed (the payback percent).

Cheers

thanks all

is there anything else i should be on the lookout for

The easiest way to lose money on slots is to sit at one machine thinking its going to hit big when you are in a real loosing spell.

Pick a name machine, such as the common Wheel of Fortune or Blazing 7%26#39;s or Wild Cherry. You will find versions in every casino. And, the pay table cycles are programmed differently in each machine of the same kind.

In the most simple terms, the program may be one that continually loses and all of a sudden a huge win pops. OR, the machine will frequently hit small wins and slowly bleed your wallet and maybe take forever before a large win hits.

In the first case, you may lose all your money very quickly. In the second case, you will rack up a lot of play and points but might be lucky to quit after a few hours at even money.

each casino decides which program they want for their machines but both types of programs will the casino the same amount in the long term profit. The frequent small wins make more customers happier

Slot machines are random. So why not be random in your play, switching machines and switching casinos frequently, hoping to increase the possibility you pick the right machine at the right time.

It works for me.

It also helps to start with a set amount of money, and collect cash out slips until you run out of money. Then you take and collect the cash for the slips and quit at that point. you might be ahead and its a good quitting point.

First off, yes slot players get more comps. With 4-5k as a bank roll

make sure you use your players card in those machines every time you play. Charge everything to your room, with that kind of bankroll on slots you should get all your food taken care of and possibly your room. And being at a property like Flamingo you should easily

acheive that.

i agree dont play for comps,

over 7 days your at no more than 1 in 50 of taking home casino money from slots

for what its worth, play the 1 cent slots . see shows, attractions,

go home happy with $2-3,000
