HI
We%26#39;re family of four travelling to USA from Australia, and part of our 3 week itinerary includes going to Vegas and staying at CP for 2 nights.
I%26#39;ve now read so many posts about NOT bringing kids to Vegas I must say it is very offputting and I%26#39;m getting a little dishartened about going.
Is it really that bad to have your children with you around Vegas as we don%26#39;t want to get the %26#39;stares and rude comments%26#39; that seems to go on to people that are in Vegas with their family.
Can anybody that has stayed in Vegas and/ or at CP with kids please let me know the kind of reception you received from other guests and people in general around Vegas.
Our boys and not babies their 14 %26amp; 15yrs old, so hopefully that is OK to travel with that age group.
Thanks
Caesars Palace %26amp; around Vegas - with 2 teenagers !!We just came back from Vegas on our way home from California with our 13 year old. He loved it. He would have rather spent more time in Vegas than Calif. And we went to Disney! Here%26#39;s the surprise - I also was worried about this kids in vegas theme. Vegas in NOT just about gambling and partying. Some people on this board will try to tell you that and that you should not bring kids to Vegas. Newsflash - it is now a family destination. Families everywhere enjoying the sights. I can%26#39;t believe people can get upset about seeing kids on the strip when there is so much to see - get over it. I wish we had more time there - there is so much to see and do. The fountains at the Bellagio, the volcano at the Mirage, M%26amp;M world, Coke world, gameworks, NY, NY with its coney island arcades, tigers at Mirage, the beautiful Venetian, Caeser%26#39;s forum shops, etc. You will have fun just walking the strip. Have a great time.
Caesars Palace %26amp; around Vegas - with 2 teenagers !!Thanks so much GLMdesigns for your input.
Your post has started to put me at ease.
You do not need permission with what you can and cannot do with your kids. The one thing I do not like is when parents drag their kids (not adolescents) around the casino late at night. I feel sorry for the kids. They look so tired and so cranky. Your kids will have fun. Don%26#39;t take them where they shouldn%26#39;t be.
I hear that Cheetahs is now trying to get families to visit.
I%26#39;ve just got back from a trip to Vegas and although I didn%26#39;t have any children with me, I saw plenty of families. There%26#39;s lots to do, especially for young teenagers, so don%26#39;t worry - you%26#39;ll all have a great time.
I have taken my kids to Vegas many times and I have NEVER received a bad reception (stares or comments) from ANYONE in Vegas. Only on Trip Advisor have I encountered this. I admit, I was shocked to hear the comments here. Ignore the the kid-haters here and check out Vegas and enjoy. Trust me, your family will have a GREAT time!
i%26#39;m not sure you will receive ';stares and rude comments'; - did someone post they did? And even if so, why care? If bringing your kids to LV is what workls for your family - do it.
personally, I do not like the environment for kids - mine all visited when they were 21, not until, and my g%26#39;kids are not allowed unless they come in and out for a show and we use side entrances and never go through a casino, which is hard.
Make the decision that works for your family, behave appropriately and do not let others attitudes influence you. There are many kids at Caesar%26#39;s.
You won%26#39;t get stares or rude comments unless your kids are doing something that they shouldn%26#39;t be.
i think many people think this is not the place for kids inspite of the fact that people will claim there are lots of things to do. Since you are making this part of a larger trip to the USA and are only staying a couple of days, your kids should have a good time.
I question the people who make it a destination and then try to convince themselves there is plenty to do. There may be plenty to do but how long can you look at the fountains or ride the roller coaster? Although families go there, it is no longer the family destination that they had tried to make it.
I%26#39;ve always thought I wouldn%26#39;t want to take my kids, not that they shouldnt be there. When Im in Vegas I like to drink, gamble, and stay out all night. I just never could figure out what I%26#39;d do with my kids! If you dont have a big interest in doing those things you and your kids will love it! If you do, then maybe its not the best place because your kids will keep you from doing what you want to do. I%26#39;ve seen people pushing strollers up and down the strip many times and just think that wouldn%26#39;t be fun at all. If your kids are older there%26#39;s plenty to do, just realize they cant be in the casino with you if you want to gamble.
Should mention we also went to Lance Burton magic show - very kid friendly. For all the comments - I agree this should not be a family vacation destination. Most people just go for a few days on the way back from another place. We visited on the way home from California because we were curious to visit. What I%26#39;m trying to say - is that people must realize it is no longer a place to just drink, gamble etc. Of course many people go for that reason but when are people going to realize there IS a lot to do. And also to marvel at the sights. The hotels are amazing. I realize now the people who are convinced you should not bring kids to Vegas are those that are there just to party. And that%26#39;s ok too - let%26#39;s just end this stupid debate.
