Looking for outdoor activities near Wendover

I am going to Wendover this September with all my relation! I would like to do outdoor activies -except ATV. I am wondering were I could go or rent equipment etc. So far all I have come up with is going horseback riding, swimming at the hotel pool or driving to Salt Lake for entertainment...

I am stayijng with my fiance - we are 30, some what athletic and not big gamblers. Please help us out if you have any advice for outdoor entertainment or things for younger people to do.

The one time I visited Wendover it appeared to be a wide spot in the road in the middle of the salt flats. I didn%26#39;t see anything else there unless I missed something.

Salt Lake City is an hour + away.

Thank you for the update... It is some what disappointing to hear however. I guess I will resort to drinking and laying by the pool if need be.

You can go to Blue Lake which is about 12 miles from Wendover. Really easy to get to. You can have a picnic and go scuba diving there.

That is about all else I can think of other than what you%26#39;ve already mentioned. We are not gamblers either and we just went to Wendover to relax and get away for a few days. We would get a room and just spend time together.

I highly recommend getting a juccuzi suite! We absolutely loved it! Have a great trip! : )

We were in West Wendover in February 2006 and I believe some people went on horseback riding trips. I%26#39;m not sure how they found out about it and we stayed at Montego Bay. Perhaps contacting Montego Bay, Peppermill or one of the other casinos will put you in touch with this type of ride and they might give you other ideas.

I found them to be very helpful and they realize people do other things beside gamble 24/7! Enjoy.

We visited Wendover on a bus tour last year from Canada. We noticed there are tennis courts close to the tourism office. Also there is a movie theatre up the hill from Montego Bay Hotel %26amp; Casino. Last year they were showing 2 full feature new releases. The popcorn is great too! It is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Hope this helps. We are renting a car in Wendover %26amp; touring Salt Lake City this October. There is lots to see %26amp; do downtown. You can hear the famous organ although I understand the Tabernacle is closed for renovations until December 2006. The organ concerts are being held in the Conference %26amp; Convention Center. Monday - Saturday at noon %26amp; 2 P.M. The downtown area is very historic %26amp; more info. can be obtained from the Salt Lake City Tourism Bureau. Have fun!

BC, you%26#39;ll be going to Salt Lake at its best and most beautiful time. The grounds of the Temple and Convention Center are lovely, and there is a lot of shopping downtown. If you have time, go up in the Church Office Building to the observation platform, and eat in the restaurant in the Joseph Smith Building (old Hotel Utah) just for the view. Just don%26#39;t try to order coffee!

LOL Saks, I forgot about that, and don%26#39;t try to buy real beer in the stores either, it%26#39;s all 3.2! Gotta love that quirky Happy Valley. :D
