NWA Strike....OH Please don't let this happen!

We are flying Northwest Airlines Wednesday (8/30) to Vegas.

The flight attendants were planning unannounced, sporadic walkouts Friday but were blocked by a judge just hours before the strikes were to begin.

The judge told Northwest%26#39;s Attorney that ';the company cannot be sure an adverse ruling next week won%26#39;t make it%26#39;s current situation vanish';.

Who here has been affected by an airline strike? Do they offer flights on other airlines?...or are you just SOL?

HELLLLLPPPPP!!

NWA Strike....OH Please don't let this happen!

i%26#39;ve was an airline employee for many years and unfortunately went through many strikes.

the other airlines will try to help you if they can - you won%26#39;t have priority, may have better luck on NWA codeshare partners. depennding on if you are using a hgub, what other carriers are in your market, etc, it may take some doing. NWA has been in trouble for a long time, this isn%26#39;t too much of a surprise.

don%26#39;t worry until it happens. if it does make calls then. i would at least look at what other airlines fly from your origination city, know those schedules.

i was in italy for most of may - the trains strike so much that they announce ahead of time so peeps can plan. one day it was for about 2 hr midday and another day for 12 hours - the citizens are so used to it they jsut roll with the punches - some walking miles. we in the US would not do so well.

Thanks bridgefan. I am hoping for the best, but I will take your advice and at least check out other airline schedules. I%26#39;m sure it would be to our advantage to know that info. Thank you again!

luvtvluvtv, SW had a ding special this morning that I got and booked. Any Tues, Wed or Saturday in September for $89 each way to Vegas from Indy. Where are you in Indiana?

3katmama--I%26#39;m 60 miles north of Indy...Logansport.

That is a great deal, $89! We are paying $250 RT and thought that wasn%26#39;t bad. I book Vegas trips according to airline prices and they were in the $350-$400 range for a straight thru flight for the longest time so there were no plans until they dropped.

Is there a ';must purchase __ days in advance'; restriction. I may have to keep that in mind for the flight back 9/3.

I should say, I may have to keep that in mind if they go on strike while we are in Vegas and we don%26#39;t have a flight 9/3.

For SOME reason I%26#39;m not too worried about getting stuck in Vegas, it the flight departing from Indy I%26#39;m worried about. ; )

Northwest%26#39;s domestic partners are Delta and Continental. Just find out what their schedules are, just in case. If there%26#39;s a strike, then you%26#39;ll know who to call first.

luvtv, it was a Ding special so I%26#39;m not sure how long it will be good for. Not long I don%26#39;t imagine. I would think those would sell out fast.

We are flying NWA on Wed. August 30th as well. So if the judge stepped in does that mean they can%26#39;t strike? Or what risk id there? Please let me know!!!!

Anyone???
