Hi... love this forum... great reading! Going to Vegas (3 newbies) from Nov 11 to 13th (long weekend), and am noticing all the ';high-prices';. Expected of course, however, can anybody recommend a fairly nice hotel on the strip that won%26#39;t cost us an arm/leg. Thanks! Much appreciated!

Reasonably priced Strip hotels
i%26#39;m not sure what you consider a ';fairly nice hotel';, but here are some that aren%26#39;t too expensive.........
barbary coast
flamingo
bally%26#39;s
NY-NY
let us all know which one you end up booking!
Reasonably priced Strip hotels
It would be Bally%26#39;s for me.
Is it too late to change the dates of dates your trip? Not only are hotel rates very high at weekends (a room that%26#39;s $99 Sunday-Thursday can be double that at weekends, more if it%26#39;s particularly busy), but all of Vegas gets horribly crowded and you end at waiting in line forever to eat, gamble, get into bars and clubs etc. It%26#39;s not ideal for a first visit. If you come midweek you can have your choice of great hotels for sensible prices and everything%26#39;s a lot more fun.
There are no nice strip hotels that are reasonable on weekends.
Going on weekends is a bad idea for multiple reasons
Of the badly located, long-walk-to-strip cheapies, i would prefer Stratosphere and Gold Coast at around $100 weekends. Las Vegas Hilton varies from $60-$600 depeding on conventions, check their rates
On strip ghettos..Excalibur, Tropicana(tower), Imp.Palace, Hooters, Riviera in that order of preference, over $100
Don%26#39;t bother with Circus, Sahara, Frontier
Bally%26#39;s, Flamingo, and Barbary Coast would be my suggestions due to their prime mid-strip locations, in that order of preference. Nice hotels. Then Imperial Palace, also because of its location. That fits ';fairly nice'; category.
Hi...
Well we%26#39;ve decided to go from Saturday to Tuesday... this will save some money anyways. Looking like it%26#39;s $450 CDN Air/Hotel.. one way from Bellingham... home direct to Vancouver. Staying at the Imperial Palace. Seemed to be the ';most reasonable';, and I have heard good things about it. Thought about changing the weekend due to high costs, however, my nephew is racing Nitro Harley%26#39;s there on the long weekend of Nov... with AHDRA, and we really wanted to watch him.
Thanks for all your recommendations on where to stay... now we just need to look for some coupons, etc. Will keep checking the forum!
Anita
