I have been reading about Aladdin construction since last winter. When is the actual name change happening? What do you suppose will happen to the price of rooms, dining etc.? Anyone know the real news on this, or where to look? I tried their website, but didn%26#39;t see anything there.
Thanks.
When will it be Planet Hollywood??
They are in the process of butchering the whole place. stayed there last week. Latest Fiasco was moving the Spice Market Buffet to the mezzanine on Monday. took over the area where Tremezo and Elements restuarants were. Now its Probably the only Buffet with a view of the Bellagio fountains but you will have trouble finding the butter for your roll. Food stations scattered all over and servers do not speak english. Just blank stares when I asked where was the butter. The Planet Hollywood name is plastered all over, including your room key.
When will it be Planet Hollywood??
mtroh:
Do they have a Planet Hollywood restaurant inside the hotel/casino? They serve great hamburgers!
Brenda :~)
sounds like a mess. Are they remodeling rooms too? I%26#39;d like to try a visit there, but not until things are complete.
Is there still a Planet Hollywood Restaurant at Caesar%26#39;s Palace ? I remember seeing the sign. Or is it relocating to the Hotel?
Planet Hollywood restuarant is still over at Caesars.
The room overall was good, south tower but I could still see the fountains and Bellagio. I checked in a 1030 AM and got the room right away, I was in the pool by 1130 AM. I was on a $59 for one night, second night free promo with 2 buffets, 2 show tickets. Stayed the previous 3 nights at the Wynn comped.
Little things wrong with room. TV would shut off if you used the remote in less than 30 seconds. Yes, they came to the room 4 times but were unsuccessfull repairing it.
light bulb missing at window lamp. was fixed. Glass Shower door frame screws were pulling out of wall. not repaired. that was dangerous.
did hit a $1000 win on a $1 wheel of fortune, 360 quarters on a quarter wheel of fortune and $100 twice on the huge penny wheel of fortune. Problem is the huge wheel of fortune will go for long long periods with no wins. Its a loser, try $20 and quit fast. I think I lost $300 on that huge wheel playing too long too many times.
One other tidbit, they are installing slots on the mezzanine in front of the temp registration area. Employees seemed to be very upbeat, a complete change from May visit. Must have fired a lot of employees with sour faces.
Casino hostess told me that the rooms won%26#39;t be remodelled until 2007,but she qualified that by saying that overall plans/schedules are subject to change.
I%26#39;ll be there 9/14-19!
Does anyone think that changing it to ';Planet Hollywood'; will help with its success/lack of success?
The money spent on the change will put them into a deeper financial hole, but it will not make them trendy or otherwise more popular. they should have worked with what they had, which was very nice
DK...I agree..why fix it if it ain%26#39;t broke. I enjoyed my two stays there and really liked The Aladdin the way it was..oh well. You know someone has to pay for the changes ie. higher room rates lower comps etc.
Planet Hollywood was never a great brand name because it is associated with the snobbish hollywood elite, not common people who might be attracted to a name like hooters. The building itself is one of the newer casinos and huge. The rooms are good, the view is great.
But ownership never knew how to fine tune all the assets for profitability, like filling the Performing Arts Theatre every night with quality events. Its empty 90% of the year. this on going, slow moving construction mess, just plain poor planning, would have chased all the customers away if they were not giving away free rooms or rooms for $59. Customers will remember the $59 rates when the construction is done and when they jack up rates to $300 a night, another bankruptcy occurs.
