Almost out of here and we have a question for the board members.
On prior trips we would usually bring a few bottles of our favorite champagne on board in our carry on luggage wrapped in bubble wrap to avoid disaster. Now with the new regulations in place we want to place them, well wrapped inside our checked bags
between the clothes or in a seperate bag. Does anyone have any experience with packing a bottle in checked baggage recently? Also for the cosmetic and shower items besides triple zip locking them, should any other precautions be taken to avoid a big mess while storing them in checked bags? Will the pressure have any effect on them? Thanks in advance for your help and shared experience.
Checked In Luggage Advice
I have never had any trouble with cosmetic or shower items in checked luggage, but I do put anything questionable in a cosmetic bag packed securely between clothing items.
As far as the champagne, I wouldn%26#39;t even try that in checked luggage unless you have THICK styrofoam wrapped completely around the bottle. Even then I would not want it in the same luggage that my clothes are in.

I just flew from Knoxville to Cincinnati and then to Columbus a week ago. I had no problem with cosmetic and shower items-I put them in plastic bags and then in cosmetic bags. The Bubbly would probably not fare so well. Also, it is a temptation. Good Luck!!
I agree, I would NOT pack the bubbly. You%26#39;re just asking for trouble there. What if it breaks and everything you have is soaked? Yuck! The cosmetic and shower items will be fine. Make sure the caps are screwed on tight though and seal them in a ziploc bag. I have had caps vibrate their way off before.
