Which hotel should I pick for 3 star hotels at Vegas? Any recommendations on Flamingo and Imperial Palace, since they offer similiar price? Can you please share your experiences with these 2 hotels? Thanks a lot!
Flamingo or Imperial PalaceStayed at both. For the same price, definately the Flamingo. For $30 less a night I would stay at the IP.
Flamingo or Imperial PalaceHave only stayed at the IP, found it to be a super location. Room was clean everytime we%26#39;ve stayed there contrary to what I%26#39;ve read about others%26#39; experiences. Service we%26#39;ve recieved has always been very friendly. Thei comp system if you play there using the players card is terrific - you can use your points earned to buy anything in the gift shops.
I%26#39;ve stayed at the IP but not Flamingo. I wouldn%26#39;t consider either 3 stars. I will say I like the casino at the Flamingo better but like ambr said, if you can get the IP for a better rate, take it. With regard to location, they are too close to each other to be an issue.
Trust me, the Flamingo is better than the Imperial Palace. The Flamngo s not a luxurious hotel ....on a scale of good-better-best, I rate it ';Good.'; Here is my take on the Flaming.
From my website at:
http://www.lasvegas4newbies.com/contents.html
Flamingo Hotel %26amp; Casino Unique features: A classic Las Vegas landmark that dates back to the strip’s earliest days. Originally built with mob money on what was then a desert dirt road in the middle of no-where by legendary gangster Benjamin ';Bugsy'; Seigel.
Opened on New Year’s Eve in 1946 with 105 rooms and Jimmy Durante as the headliner. Renovated in 1997, the caribbean-themed Flamingo Hotel %26amp; Casino now has 3,642 rooms on 28 floors. Located on 15 acres in the middle of the strip.
Rooms: The Flamingo is one of Harahs/Caesar’s family of hotels so you can check in at the airport. This is not a luxury hotel, but rooms (averaging 350 to 400 sq. ft.) are adequate for the price. Concierge. Irons, ironing boards, ...hair dryers. Maximum occupancy: 4. Kids under 18 stay free. Check-in: 3 p.m; noon check-out. (Two night minimum.)
Amenities: Large well landscaped pool area with 4 pools and cascading waterfalls (which can be crowded) and 2 hot tubs. Spa, health club and 4 lighted tennis courts. The hotel has a free wildlife habitat with swans, Mandarin ducks, Koi fish, penguins and (of course) pink flamingos which you can observe while having breakfast at their buffet. Two wedding chapels.
Dining: The Flamingo has nine restaurants including the reasonably priced Paradise Garden Buffet.
Casino: The 77,000 square foot casino features 1,970 slot and video poker machines, (nickel to $100), 70 popular table games and large race and sports book.
Cost: Excellent location ...right amid all the action. Hotel room rates here are significantly cheaper than most of the surrounding higher quality resorts. Try to get the hotel clerk to give you a grade up room as some are better than others.
I have stayed at both and found them to be fine. The Flamingo has a much nicer pool area and a more lighter, airy casino area. However the pool is very busy and you have to get there early to be sure of getting a chair quickly. You would not have this problem at the IP. We did not use any of the restaurants in the Flamingo so can%26#39;t comment. I would have at one time recommended Ming%26#39;s in the IP but when we visited earlier this year we found the food to be good but the service very weird the restaurant was not busy but they still seemed to want to get us out quickly. We are a pretty average middle aged couple so it wasn%26#39;t as if we were rowdy or drunk. We just wanted to enjoy our meal.
Flamingo hands down!!!
If you like, cheesy dealertainers, that use csm machines, and
rip off double deck black jack, mold, and a smell that you just cant describe by all means go to the IP, your just going to sleep and
shower there!
Flamingo
Its has a good pool area as well.
I%26#39;ve stayed at the the Flamingo a number of times. The rooms are worn but clean, the pool is great and Margaritaville is a fun place to eat. The casino is right on the strip, not set back like IP. The penguins are gone now at the Flamingo, and don%26#39;t go to the Hawaiian luau at IP, it%26#39;s pretty bad. If you pay an additional 20 bucks a night you can get a remodeled strip view room at the Flamingo.
Flamingo. Ask for a remoldeled strip view when checking in. I%26#39;ve never had to pay extra to get a strip view on both visits, but the remodeled room I had the first trip was very nice, the non-remodeled room on the second was a bit grim.
Still nicer than the IP.
