Hi off to vegas 28th Oct for 6 days unsure when to book hotels to get hte best possible deal is better to leave it last minute or book well in advance?. Is Halloween very busy ? cheers.
hotel rooms better to book early or late ?
book now, prices are usually lower further in advance. sign up for email promotions at all the hotel websites. If the prices happen to drop, you can call up the hotel and they will switch your booking to the lower price at no charge.

Always book early, one can always change....
You can book early but I don%26#39;t. I wait for the specials and promotions to start rolling in and I book then. I also keep watching the hotel I booked with to see if they lower the rates, if I so, I call %26#39;em and ask if I can get the lower rate.
I go to Vegas about 3 times a year and this works for me.
I booked at luxor 6 weeks ago and the rate is now $120 less than my original booking for 3 days. I would have thought early booking would have been a good deal, but in this case it was not.
You should book early and then keep checking the rates. If the rates drop you can contact the hotel and they will usually give you the lower rate. If they don%26#39;t - just cancel (within the cancellation period) and then rebook. Do the same if you find a lower rate at a different hotel.
nmsouthwest,
Call Luxor and reboor your room for the lower rate.
VP03%26#39;s advice is the way to go..nothing to lose and all to gain..
I also do what vp03 does. That way I%26#39;m assured to have a space, but I can also keep my eyes open for the best deal. :)
nmsouthwest - is your booking cancellable? If you booked direct with the hotel then I%26#39;m pretty sure it will be. Therefore, you can call the hotel and they will put your booking onto the lower rate assuming it%26#39;s still available. They won%26#39;t make you cancel and then book again.
That%26#39;s the advantage of booking early. You are not locked into the rates so if they go up, you can sit tight and if they go down, you can get the lower price.
It is just very important that if you ';book early'; it is directly with the hotel, not with a booking agency ( like Travelocity or Expedia) or with a package tour company . Once you have booked with one of those you are ';locked in'; even if the price goes lower. Yu should book directly with the hotel to be assured of having a place ( dates do get sold out) and them keep checking to see if the price is lower so you can call and get it adjusted. We booked directly with Golden NUgget for our December stay about a month ago. Now we know we are assured of a room there and if their prices go down , we can cal and they will adjust them. You can do this only when you are dealing directly with the hotel itself.
I think you should definitely book a room now. October is a Convention month in Vegas and very busy .
