Single guy...

taking my mom to Vegas in a few weeks. Staying for a week for free at the Strat. My mom is elderly and, although, I spend most of my time with her during the day, at night I will be free to do what I want.

I am not into night clubs but love sports. What can I do at night to have fun, meet people, etc., without having to go to clubs?

I am a light drinker and not much into getting drunk, ha, ha.

i%26#39;d love to know what you mean by elderly! I frequent LV with my sons often, usually they also take a night or two away from mom - unless they want to gamble, in which case they still regard me as authority, thankfully.

we love sprots also - they go to the sportsbooks at Venetian (where we stay) caesar%26#39;s and hilton. HRH on sunday afternoon. Since they ar all in mid-30%26#39;s and married they might go to a club for a few minutes but much prefer sportsbooks. Lots of guys, plenty of TV%26#39;s and they do not drink at all. On big week-ends of MNF you need to get a seat early and stake out your turf if you don%26#39;t have a host reserve one. ESPN zone at NY NY might be another option - although they find the crowd a little too young

they also go to shows alone. and play golf during the day

do you pay ten a year??

Take a cab to Crazy Horse--it%26#39;s not far, you can meet girls, and I would think that the drinks might be somewhat expensive so you won%26#39;t be inclined to drink too much. Elderly mom, which would put you at middle age, don%26#39;t know where to go to meet girls---ever wonder why you%26#39;re still single?

Bridget, yes I do pay ten a year... and have been for a few years since I graduated.

I am 30, my mom is 64, so when I say elderly I am not really referring to her age, but rather her health. Her health is really bad so she will not be out much at night.

our office friend didn%26#39;t say he wanted to meet girls or was single.

could be he is married and taking mom a trip and wants to spend time with other people.

he could be recently divorced, not familar with LV.

his Q was pretty easy - light drinker, likes sports, wants to meet people.

seems easy.

well then you and mom are almost exactly our ages. sorry about her health - makes aging more difficult.

as i said, we LOVE vegas, take many family trips. my sons much prefer a good sportsbook to a nightclub when alone. they would not go to a strip joint. our family plays and follows all sports.

hard to decide what was my best experience in death valley - rolling stones in 80%26#39;s or any defeat of the gamecocks...... nah, stones easy!

i don%26#39;t want you to assume anything. I took ';single'; as alone at night, not unmarried, since his post asked directly about what to do at night without his mom.

the word single does not neceassrily refer to his martial status.

my point was we should NOT assume, but answer his Q%26#39;s directly.

Wynn sportsbook is a fun place to hang out %26amp; watch football, the lounge area is a good size and people are usually sociable.

She would use it if it was conveniant. I had often wondered what the cost was to rent one and if she would be able to bring it on the Deuce since the Deuce does say it accomdates handicapped folks.

Thank you all for the kind responses, and no I am not married. Just a guy going to vegas and brining his mom. However, like I said mom will be out during the day but will probably be in her room at night due to her health. She just cant go all day and night long.
