Monte Carlo or Flamingo

Looking to go next week. We want to spend most of the day at the pool (with kids 9+12, who will stay in room after dinner so we can have fun). Looks like both hotels have great pool areas (MC has wave pool and lazy river, FL has water slides). Both are the same price for next week. Which is better?

Monte Carlo or Flamingo

The MC is more modern and looks the better hotel.

You also have NY NY nearby and M%26amp;M world which the kids may like.

The Flamingo is more central.

Monte Carlo or Flamingo

Wife is the one who will like the M%26amp;Ms place. Big time chocoholic.

Anyway, what exactly is M%26amp;M factory?

You are joking right? You are not seriuosly leaving your kids in a room in Vegas. I hope you%26#39;re joking.

Sounds like a great trip for your kids. I know I always loved spending my vacation stuck in a hotel room night after night without my parents.

For location.Flamingo.Otherwise mght have to give MC tjhe nod.

MC all the way. Kids will love the

pool area, but everyone will love

the hotel. The food court is great

for all. Enjoy!

Why even take your kids if you are going to leave them in the room?

And are they the quiet type because if not, you are going to have some pizzed off neighbors.

I have stayed at both hotels %26amp; enjoyed them both. I liked the Flamingo better for the pool environment, but the Monte Carlo for the hotel rooms. Newer %26amp; more modern, great hotel. The only complaint that I had about the Flamingo, was the lighting in the bathroom, very poor, not good for putting on makeup. Location wise, I liked the Flamingo better. If i had to choose, I would go with the Monte Carlo.

Let me clarify. During the day, it%26#39;s family time. We will all be together at the pool and other activities (though I may break away for a bit to play some craps while the wife has the kids). Kids will be with us for dinner and shows (in either order, depending on show time), then it%26#39;s basically bedtime for them. We will leave them in the room (figure around 11:00) to play in the casino a little while they watch TV. They are responsible, quiet, and well behaved, so no other guests will even know they%26#39;re there. We leave them alone regularly at home (oldest kid is our ';Saturday night babysitter';) and trust them completely. If there%26#39;s a problem, they have cell phones to reach us. We%26#39;ll be right downstairs. The only time we will be leaving them alone is late night, when it%26#39;s past their bedtime anyway. We are not looking for any ';romantic dinners'; without the kids--they were at sleepaway camp all summer, so we had plenty of that. This is a family vacation, with a little separate time for us late at night. That%26#39;s all.

BTW, I admit Vegas was not my first choice for a family vacation. I had airline vouchers that were expiring, so it was use them or lose them. With cheap mid-week rooms, it%26#39;s a reasonably priced getaway. After a couple of very profitable trips to Atlantic City over the summer, my wife actually suggested Vegas to (hopefully) continue our hot streak. Worst case, even if we lose some at the tables, we%26#39;ll still be ahead for the summer. Plus we%26#39;ll have some quality pool time with the kids and see some good shows. What%26#39;s so bad about that?

Remember to put your cell phone on vibrate, the casinos are so loud you will never hear your phone ring. Well, if play slots like me.
