Ok so i really need some help with this one
This will be our 4th trip to vegas in the last 18 months and we are looking to do this trip el%26#39; cheapo....we have the ability to stay Sept 28th- Oct 2nd (4 nights) at Terribles for about $325US per person. This includes flight/hotel and taxes included. We are Canadians flying out of a regional airport in Washington St.
What we really want to know is if this is a good deal and if this hotel will be ok for us. We will be partying/shopping the entire trip and plan to be in the room for sleep and gettign ready only.
Thanks in advance to all who reply!
Terrible's Hotel/Casino
It%26#39;s a ways from the strip. You might want to check out some other hotel because I figure what you will save on cabs will make up for the price difference. The price (from Canada) sounds good, though.
Terrible's Hotel/Casino
yeah i wondered about that.....is it really that far from the strip?? It seems to be closer when looking at it on google earth.....anyone else????
thebrodz, if you%26#39;re really going ';Cheapo';, there%26#39;s a city bus that goes right by there and drops you off at the strip for a buck and a quarter.
Terrible%26#39;s rooms are older, but clean %26amp; servicable. Nothing special but I%26#39;ve seen worse in Vegas (at the IP). Rent a car, it%26#39;s cheap and well worth it. Terrible%26#39;s cafe is okay, I had a decent breakfast there once. Their casino is cramped and smoky but I%26#39;ve had decent luck there. Nice dealers.
Actually they just finished remodeling the rooms, otherwise bunny is dead on. If you like tables, forget it. They do however have a nice chicken special for around $5 thats pretty good.
Have you checked the Tropicana? It%26#39;s equal too or better than Terribles for the same price usually.
It%26#39;s really not that far from the Strip. Have you looked into other places away from the Strip, like the Stratosphere, or maybe even one the hotels in Downtown??
DrV didn%26#39;t know about the remodel, that%26#39;s cool. I know it%26#39;s a sucky casino, but we have a bit of a soft spot for it. in 2002 we were in Vegas for a month and that was the closest casino to our residential hotel up the street, so we hung out there a lot.
Thanks for the replies
We have looked into the other places and they are either booked or way more expensive.
Do you think it is safe to walk to/from the strip at night from Terribles?
It%26#39;s a hoof from Terrible%26#39;s (at the corner of Paradise and Flamingo) to the Strip....about a mile one way, with no shade. The Monorail Station at Bally%26#39;s/Paris, which could whisk you towards where you want to go on the Strip is slightly less of a distance.
....But at least you will be walking by Ellis Island and you can stop in for the great $4.95 steak special a few times (and their wonderful brews).
It is not that the walk is inherently dangerous at any time of day (Flamingo is a busy road and there are sidewalks the whole way), it just can be a pretty lonely walking along at 3AM past some of those vast empty lots and some folks will feel uneasy.
Check into renting a car...they are incredibly cheap in Vegas, sometimes as low as about $12 per day (plus another $5 or so for fees and taxes). You will thank yourself for doing it ten times a day.....
Ok amber, I may be totally lost here but, isn%26#39;t Terribles closer to Tropicana than Flamingo?
I%26#39;d walk it but thats me. Why not just take a $5 cab ride to the closest strip casino. (still pretty sure thats either MGM or the Tropicana on Tropicana Blvd.)
Another opition would be the HRH (across the street) shuttle to the Tropicana. I forget the hours but its limited.
Damn... I still think Ellis is further up Koval.
